<p>The data signal is attenuated on its way along the data line. The crosstalk at the far end of a line is therefore less than it would be if the signal arrived at the receiver at full strength. As the measuring device measures both the attenuation and the line length, it can include the signal attenuation caused by the line length in the FEXT measurement. FEXT stands for "far end crosstalk attenuation", the crosstalk attenuation at the far end of the line. The old designation for ACR-F is ELFEXT   </p>
