FTTA

The volume of data in mobile networks is constantly growing. Social media, emails, phone calls, online shopping, mobile apps - the list of useful helpers and programs for on the go is getting longer every day. Operating two or three mobile devices at the same time has also become a matter of course for many users.

To cope with the data volumes, providers are installing ever more powerful antenna systems. Antennas have long since evolved from purely passive structures to active system components with their own electronics. In order to be able to transmit the highest possible data rates over the sometimes long distances between base station and radio mast, providers rely on Fiber-To-The-Antenna (FTTA). With this technology, the electronics are housed in the immediate vicinity of the antenna or fully integrated into the antenna housing. Data is transmitted to and from the base station via optical fibers.

Fiber optic connections on mobile phone masts are exposed to particularly harsh environmental conditions: Heat and cold, dust, rain, snow and ice and constant UV radiation place enormous demands on cables and connectors. As an innovative system provider, Telegärtner has therefore expanded its tried-and-tested portfolio of coaxial connectors and cables to include FTTA product solutions, precisely tailored to the various customer requirements. With the types TOC TDC, TOC FXC, TOC RBC, TOC FEM and of course the proven TOC all-metal version, the pre-assembled cables cover a wide range of customer-specific applications.
